Riparian Area Management seeks to maintain and reestablish riparian areas along streams and rivers. Most streams and rivers were once lined with trees and/or grass. This area along the sides of streams are known as riparian zones. Through the years some or all of the native vegetation has been eliminated. The problem with the elimination of this vegetation is it reduces wildlife habitat and it removes vegetation take could filter soil, nutrients and pesticides before it enters the water.
