Filter Strips are strips of legumes, grasses, trees or shrubs that are established along or around bodies of water such as streams or significant water courses, lakes, ponds and wetlands.

Some of the benefits are:

• Provides a medium by which when water passes through them a portion of the soil, nutrients and pesticides that may be in the water is filtered out.

• Provides additional wildlife habitat particularly if planted to native grass.
