No-Till Drill for Rent
The District has a six foot (6 foot drilling width - 8.5 foot total width), Land Pride, model 606NT no-till drill. The drill has three different seed boxes. This allows for the opportunity to drill a variety of seeds. From corn or soybean sized seed to legume and grass sized.
No-Till Drill Requirements & Usage Guidelines
Equipment Requirements
Operating the drill requires a tractor with a minimum of 40 horsepower and hydraulic capability. The drill is equipped with Pioneer hydraulic adapters.
With a 6-foot effective drilling width and an overall width of 8.5 feet, this drill is narrower than many others. This design allows for easier transport on public roads, particularly in more urbanized areas where wider equipment can be difficult to maneuver.
Operating Efficiency
The drill typically covers 3 to 6 acres per hour, depending on field conditions. To maximize efficiency, please be fully prepared before pickup. This includes having all necessary seed on hand and ensuring your tractor is fueled and ready for operation.
Transportation Requirements
To transport the drill, you will need a vehicle equipped with a hitch. The hitch must be compatible with a 1-inch pin for towing.
Field Suitability
The drill is intended for use in fields that are free of stumps and rock layers. Suitable applications include:
Cropland seeding (entire fields)
Wildlife food plots
Filter strips
Cover crops
Interseeding in established pastures
Important:
The drill must not be used in areas where trees have been cleared but stumps remain. Fields may be inspected prior to rental to ensure proper conditions.
